Peter Deilmann, cruise pioneer: Travel Weekly

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Peter Deilmann, the sole owner of Peter Deilmann Cruises and a pioneer in the German cruising market, has died. He was 68 years old.

Deilmann's cruises are sold in the U.S. primarily as river cruises.

The line also has two ocean-going cruise ships, the Deutschland and the Berlin, and a masted vessel, the Lili Marleen.

A statement from German-based Peter Deilmann Reederei said Deilmann's two daughters will continue to operate the company.
