Princess Cruises will launch its inaugural Connect with Princess virtual conference next week, with a weeklong schedule of sessions for travel advisors.
Hosted by John Chernesky, Princess' senior vice president of North America sales and trade marketing, the event will feature 14 sessions from May 3 to 7 that will focus on themes including tips on how to upsell, focusing on new-to-cruise clients, selling groups and deep dives on Princess-specific technology. Admission is free.
Guests include Michelle Fee, CEO of Cruise Planners, and Brad Tolkin, CEO of World Travel Holdings, as well as a host of Princess executives and sales team members. President Jan Swartz will kick off Day 1 with a discussion on the critical role travel advisors will play in getting cruising and travel back on its feet.
"This is first of a kind for us, and we think first of a kind for the industry," Chernesky said of the conference, adding that, normally, he and other Princess executives would attend various consortia, host agency and other travel advisor conferences throughout the year. "We thought, rather than us go to them, let's bring them to us. Let's figure out a way to connect with as many frontline advisors as we can."
Chernesky said that unlike the usual hourlong webinars he's been hosting through the last year, the conference is an "intensive training opportunity" for travel advisors to either get reconnected with Princess or connect for the first time.
"We do some deep dives on a number of topics," he said, including how to sell Princess, what sets its Polar reservation systems apart and an explanation of its MedallionClass ship technology, "which we think is a game-changer."
Travel advisors can sign up at the Princess sales support site.
