RSSC cancels Navigator cruise after small fire

FORT LAUDERDALE -- Radisson Seven Seas Cruises canceled the Jan. 18 voyage of the Seven Seas Navigator after the ship experienced a small electrical fire as it was returning from its current cruise.

The fire broke out in a generator room around 1 a.m. on Jan. 17 and caused a temporary blackout; it was extinguished within about three minutes, a RSSC spokesman said. Passengers were asked to gather at their interior muster stations, but no passengers or crew were injured in the incident.

The Navigator was expected to return to Fort Lauderdale late on Jan. 18. Passengers who paid full fare will be offered a $1,000 cruise credit.

Meanwhile, passengers on the canceled Jan. 18 cruise will receive a full refund or accommodations on any of RSSCs available seven-day cruises, plus a $1,000 future cruise credit. Agent commissions are protected.
