Silversea Cruises said it will partner with photographer Steve McCurry to "chronicle Silversea's extensive fleet and portfolio expansion."

McCurry is best known for his photo on the June 1985 cover of National Geographic of an adolescent, green-eyed Afghan girl in a red headscarf staring intensely into the camera.

Silversea's itineraries offer guests more than 850 destinations in more than 130 countries on all seven continents.

"Steve McCurry's artistry and storytelling align perfectly with Silversea's immersive experiences, intimate vessels and unforgettable destinations," Silversea chief marketing officer Barbara Muckermann said. "He has the ability to capture the authentic beauty in the world, and express it with passion and clarity."

McCurry's photos of gorillas in east Africa appear now on a Silversea website. He is scheduled to post images from Silversea cruises to Istanbul in September, to Sicily in October and to Svalbard, Norway, in December.
