Star to rename Norwegian Wind for Asian relocation

Star Cruises will rename the Norwegian Wind the SuperStar Aquarius when the vessel makes its Asia debut on June 11 as Star's newest ship after the Norwegian Cruise Line vessel transfers to sister company Star's fleet.

The SuperStar Aquarius will be the third Star Cruises will positioned in Hong Kong, joining the Star Pisces and the Wasa Queen.

Star Cruises said that the vessel will sail a series of one-night cruises out of Singapore between June 11 and 16 before heading to Hong Kong on June 17, where it will begin sailing daily cruises on June 22, in addition to a series of two-day cruises to Xiamen, China, during the summer, and two-night cruises to Haikou, China, in the fall and winter.

The SuperStar Aquarius's relocation cruise on June 17 will call at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Sanya, China, before arriving in Hong Kong.

Star said that the ship's "daily departures provide an excellent opportunity to capture the breathtaking skyline of Hong Kong as she embarks on cruises that offer a spectacular array of onboard dining, recreation and entertainment options."

The 50,760-ton SuperStar Aquarius has a lower-berth passenger capacity of 1,529.
