Carnival Cruise Line will boost commissions for travel agents in the last three quarters of 2018 based on reaching sales benchmarks for the first quarter.

Under the plan, agents who make 20 deposited bookings in the first quarter will earn 11% commission on all new 2018 bookings made after March 31, up from the base 10% commission.  Agents who make at least 125 bookings in the first quarter will see their 2018 commission rate increased to 15%.

"This challenge is designed to give agents a boost of inspiration as they plan out their 2018 goals," said Carnival vice president of sales and trade marketing Adolfo Perez.

To qualify, agents must register and file a marketing plan on the "Amp Up Commission Program" registration site detailing how they intend to meet their commission goal.

Intermediate goals in the program are 12% commission for 38 bookings made, 13% for 63 bookings and 14% for 88 bookings.

At the conclusion of the booking period, agencies will receive an email summary of their goal achievements and increased commission level for April 1-Dec. 31, 2018, if applicable.

New FIT and group bookings made from April 1 to Dec. 31 will be eligible for the increased commission level. All berthed group cabins made during this period will earn the commission established at time of the group booking, Carnival said.
