Tauck plans to increase small-ship passenger volume by 40%
next year with the addition of five itineraries and more ships, predominantly
through an expanding partnership with French cruise line Ponant.
Last spring, Tauck disclosed plans to double its small-ship
cruising capacity over the next several years.
Much of that growth will take place in 2019, Tauck said last week.
Tauck currently sells cruises aboard six Ponant ships,
including the soon-to-launch Le Laperouse, the first of four expedition ships Ponant
is launching in 2018 and 2019. Tauck will feature three of the four (Le Laperouse,
Le Champlain and Le Dumont D'Urville) in 2019.
In addition, Tauck is expanding the number of charters it
will operate with partner cruise lines by approximately 50%. In all, Tauck will
offer 22 itineraries next year aboard 13 ships.
