Windstar Cruises this week introduced a new point and tier system to its Yacht Club loyalty program, enhancing its rewards to include onboard credit, free WiFi, discounts on shore excursions and dinners with officers.
The new system gives members one point per cruise day, or more in higher cabin categories, enabling them to progress from a one- to four-star tier of benefits, offering more rewards at each level.
At the lowest level, One Star members will get a 5% discount on laundry service, WiFi and Windstar merchandise. At the highest, Four Star tier, they will get free laundry and WiFi, $100 in onboard credit, and discounts on shore excursions and beverage packages (See chart).

Windstar said the enhancements are based on feedback from its most frequent passengers. They also feature larger discounts on cruises, such as 20% off on select Yacht Club Member sailings.
"We listened to our most loyal guests and have responded with a program that truly recognizes and rewards those who sail the most with us," said Betsy O'Rourke, chief marketing officer of Windstar and its parent company, Xanterra Travel Collection.
Yacht Club members have always gotten a 5% discount on cruises, a $100 shipboard credit referral gift, early notification on new ports and itineraries and private sales. They also get discounts at sister brands in the Xanterra Travel Collection, a diverse portfolio that includes tour operators and the primary lodging in many national parks.
Windstar recently appointed a new president, Christopher Prelog, and plans to resume service in 2021.
