Travel agents owe a tip of the hat to Carnival Cruise Lines for simplifying its fare structure around three core fare categories, down from a six-tiered system introduced last year.
Leaving aside the question of whether three, four or 12 is the "right" number, Carnival's willingness to listen to agents and make the change was a refreshing and rare example of a supplier adopting an approach to pricing that works for agents as well as for the company.
