Greece hopes to open its borders to international tourists in mid-May, the country's tourism minister said.

In an interview with the European edition of Politico posted Saturday, minister of tourism Haris Theocharis said the country is targeting May 14 for reopening to all visitors who have been vaccinated, test negative or show antibodies for Covid-19.

"We are relatively confident that this date is safe, as we will have as allies the good weather and the progress of vaccinations," Theocaris told Politico. "The only thing we can say for now is that 2021 will prove to be better than last year."
