La Maison Tatin opened in June in the former Hotel Tatin, where the famous tarte Tatin dessert was created in the 19th century.

The 16-room property is located in Sologne region of France's Loire Valley, and the decor gives a nod to its forest surroundings with works by local wildlife photographers in each guestroom.

The hotel underwent more than eight months of renovation during its transformation and now features a spa with a hammam, sauna and a sensory shower, as well as a menu of treatments using organic and ecofriendly products.

As to the original hotel's famous dessert, guests can sample the tarte Tatin in the hotel's Tea Room.
