The Berkeley in London's Knightsbridge district is unveiling 10 new suites as part of a multiphase renovation.
The Terrace Suites opened in August, and the Gallery, Park and Apartment suites will open late September. Designed by John Heah, the suites feature glass terraces, contemporary urban decor and original art. In addition, many of the suites are interconnecting, with an eye to appealing to family and multigenerational guests.
The suites were converted from existing rooms that have renovated and expanded; the update brings the total number of suites to 52.
Earlier this summer, the property completed a new facade and entrance, designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners, and a redesigned Blue Bar.
The Berkeley is a sister property to Claridge's and The Connaught. It includes Marcus, a two Michelin-star restaurant; a French brasserie; Pret-a-Portea, an afternoon tea room; a health club and spa with a rooftop pool. Rates start at about $640 a night.
