Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group reopened the historic Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid April 15.

The 110-year-old property, formerly the Hotel Ritz, Madrid, underwent the largest renovation in its history over the past three years, which enhanced its facilities and services while preserving the belle epoque character of the original building.

Situated in the Golden Triangle of Art bounded by the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Reina Sofia museums, the property is also close to Madrid's financial and commercial district and to El Buen Retiro Park.

Spanish architect Rafael de La-Hoz oversaw the renovation along with French designers Gilles & Boissier. Each of the 153 guestrooms, including 53 suites, have been updated with a contemporary residential style.

Five on-property eateries are overseen by three-Michelin-starred chef Quique Dacosta, and wellness facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, a vitality pool, experience showers, a steam room and a contemporary fitness center.
