Balearic boutique hotel group OD Hotels finalized the purchase of the Cavaliere Sur Plage Hotel, an Ibersol group hotel, on the French Riviera with plans to renovate and open the OD Cote d'Azur in 2019.
Located about 20 miles from Saint-Tropez, the property will be the group's sixth hotel and the first outside of Spain.
Once renovation is completed early next year, the property will feature 71 seaview rooms, a pool, a rooftop sky bar, a beach restaurant and a private beach and beach club. Loaner Smart cars will be available for guests staying in suites.
The hotel will be open without the OD branding this summer season, then will close in the off-season for the renovations.
The refit of the property will focus on art, functional design and sustainability.
The property's debut follows the opening of the 98-room OD Barcelona, the fifth OD Hotel, which officially opened last Aug. 15 in Barcelona's L'Eixample District. The collection expects to expand outside Europe to Miami in the next two years.
