Female-led hospitality brand Phaea is poised to reopen the Blue Palace on Crete as a boutique hotel with 47 rooms and one villa.
A member of Small Luxury Hotels, the property is slated to reopen in May with refreshed interiors featuring eclectic artwork and designer furnishings.
Phaea has worked with several local designers and artists, such as Philippos Theodorides, Themis Z and Nisaki Mou, to celebrate Cretan heritage and craftsmanship throughout the property.
Unique pieces found in the suites include Klismos chairs, designed by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings and manufactured by the house of Saridis in the '60s.
The secluded three-bedroom Phaea Blue Villa features a large, heated pool, expansive indoor space and the services of a private chef.
Other amenities include the Phaea Farmers' Feast experience, hosted outside in the organic garden and during which guests can harvest ingredients and take part in a creative cooking experience under the guidance of the executive chef.
The property also features an All Aboard the Traditional Caique experience aboard a traditional Greek fishing boat, for a cruise around the Mirabello Gulf from the hotel's private jetty.
