The VIU Hotel Villars, located on the site of the former Hotel du Golf in the ski resort of Villars in Switzerland's Lake Geneva region, reopened on Dec. 19.
The four-star property, named for the unimpeded views of the peaks from the terrace and south-facing rooms, is being renovated in a contemporary style in two stages.
Already completed are 60 refurbished rooms, a new lobby and a new restaurant serving a blend of bistro and gourmet fare with an Asian influence.
The VIU will open its spa complex as part of the second stage of renovation, scheduled to be completed in time for the 2020-2021 winter season.
The starting rate in winter is about $220, per room, per night.
