Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach appoints general manager: Travel Weekly

Charles Young has been named general manager for the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach, a 230-room hotel now under construction in a former Oahu office building.

A 20-year hospitality industry veteran, Young has held management positions at several hotel properties in Hawaii, Australia and Florida. He's also opened a number of properties in the past, including the Vive Hotel Waikiki.

"I am thrilled to help introduce the Hyatt Centric brand to Waikiki and provide guests with everything they need to get out and explore this fantastic city," Young said in a statement.

Officials hope to open the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach this winter in what was once the Waikiki Trade Center. The upscale hotel will feature an outdoor pool; a high-end bar and restaurant; and a 24-hour fitness facility.
