The largest resort on Oahu's North Shore has officially been rebranded The Ritz-Carlton Oahu, Turtle Bay.

"We are thrilled to welcome The Ritz-Carlton Oahu, Turtle Bay to The Ritz-Carlton family," Jamie Kerr, vice president and global brand leader for The Ritz-Carlton, said in an Aug. 6 statement. "This iconic property — with its rich cultural heritage, stunning natural beauty, and vast experiences — perfectly embodies the essence of The Ritz-Carlton brand."

The 450-room property -- formerly Turtle Bay Resort -- was purchased by Host Hotels & Resorts earlier this year for $630 million.

A $250 million renovation was completed at Turtle Bay last year, which included upgrades to the property's public areas, guestrooms, spa and dining outlets along with the addition of a club lounge and fitness center.

Host Hotels also purchased a 49-acre land parcel entitled for development at Turtle Bay for an additional $50 million.
