The Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, a property
opening May 1, is taking reservations.
As
previously announced, Nickelodeon's first resort outside of the U.S. will be an all-inclusive in the Karisma Hotels &
Resorts collection.
Located on Uvero Alto Beach in the Dominican Republic,
the 208-suite resort will feature seven suite types, including Jacuzzi Pads and
Swim-Up Suites. The resort's four 2,200-square-foot Super Villas each have two
or three bedrooms; among them is the Pineapple Villa, inspired by SpongeBob
SquarePants' home.
The heart of the resort is the Nickelodeon Village,
featuring the Aqua Nick Playground, outfitted wih water slides, splash pads and
a lazy river; Character Central, where guests can meet characters from
Nickelodeon programmimg; the Just Kiddin' clubhouse; a sports and entertainment
center; and the Knick Knack gift shop.
Complimentary, family-focused amenities include baby
food, strollers, cribs, kids' spa robes and baby bottle warmers.
Karisma said the resort will have 10 restaurants
"ranging from kid-friendly to elegant." At the Space Walker, guests
will dine inside what looks like a space shuttle. At Nosh, Nickelodeon
characters will make appearances. Verdello will serve Sicilian cuisine,
including pizza.
The Vassa Spa will have five treatment suites, a couple's
suite, outdoor treatment areas, an herbal steam room, a dry sauna,
chromotherapy showers, bubble beds, a whirlpool and arctic and warm water
pools. A "perfectly pink" treatment will be available for young
visitors.
Despite its obvious attraction to kids, the resort is
pursuing destination weddings. The resort will present "an array of
romantic options," including a beachfront gazebo. Nickelodeon's famous green
slime is available for playful couples.
Karisma said that standard rates begin at $345 per
person, per night.
