Luxury travel in the age of Covid-19 has focused heavily on all things private. And hotels, villas and private jet companies continue to expand new partnerships that make it easier for agents to tap into that demand.
TCS World Travel, for example, a leading operator of private jet expeditions, this week unveiled an all-inclusive program, Private Homes Plus. The service offers luxury vacation rentals, exclusive activities and all air and on-the-ground travel in one booking through its custom travel consultants, who work with both travel advisors and consumers.
"We know that many of our guests' vacations and family gatherings have been upended this year. And, as they consider getting together with their loved ones, the logistics of what might normally be a simple trip are suddenly much more complicated," said Shelley Cline, president of TCS World Travel.
"With our new Private Homes Plus program, we are able to leverage experience and knowledge built from developing hundreds of trips for over 25 years, along with our curated portfolio of properties in North America, to design a hassle-free vacation. We offer guests the ease of making one booking through one point of contact who will arrange everything guests desire for their home stay, whether it's for the holidays or any occasion."
The pandemic has forced travel companies to rethink, and rethink, and rethink their products. Will any of these pivots stick?
The company said it currently offers private home services in over 10 destinations throughout North America, including Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado and Maine. It says it is focused on continuing to grow its portfolio in North America as well as other destinations worldwide.
In addition to making the flight and villa bookings, TCS offers everything from massage and childcare services to holiday decorations and private, in-home family dinners cooked by celebrated chefs and personal fireworks shows.
For people looking to venture beyond North America, South America expedition travel specialist Explora for the first time is making its remote hotels available for private group buyouts when it resumes operations in December and January. It has also has partnered with private jet companies to help those groups get groups there safely.
The full buyouts are available for up to 25 guests, including meals, custom expeditions and the full use of resort facilities at Explora Torres del Paine in Patagonia, Chile; Explora Valle Sagrado along the Inca Trail in Peru; Explora Rapa Nui on Easter Island; Explora Atacama in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile; and Explora's newest destination, Explora El Chalten in Patagonia, Argentina, which will open Dec. 1.
Private jet charter rates start at $170,000 for up to nine travelers from Miami. Private flights from the U.S. are also available from Los Angeles and New York.
