The 110-room Kadun Hotel Boutique opened in downtown Cabo San Lucas, offering a style inspired by the indigenous Pericu community that once lived at the southern tip of the Baja peninsula.
Named after the Pericu word for "cactus," the hotel was designed to reflect Baja's heritage through murals inspired by cave drawings as well as local artwork, masks, textures and interiors.
The property includes a rooftop pool and sun decks, a lobby bar and cafe and a rooftop bar and lounge. Its restaurants, Savia and Umbral, feature local ingredients and cooking influences from the area with menu items including tamales choyeros; barbacoa; mochomo, which consists of roasted or cooked meats shredded and fried crisp; and almejas tatemadas (charred clams). The kitchen partners with local producers to offer organic vegetables. The wine list features 26 labels, including 10 from Mexico.
Kadun also curates contemporary Baja cultural experiences, including artist studio visits in Todos Santos and marine excursions in the Sea of Cortes.
The hotel is part of the Mexico Grand Hotels, a hospitality group of four resorts and a residence. The property pays commission to travel advisors through Mexico Grand Hotel's travel agent portal.
