Brisas Hotels & Resorts is wrapping up
a $60 million renovation program that affects all seven of its
properties in Mexico.
All of the
renovation work is being compartmentalized and done during the
off-peak seasons, to ensure that there is no impact on the
customer, said Robert Blumberg, managing director for Brisas Hotels
& Resorts.
Blumberg took
time to walk through the improvements at each property:
" Las
Brisas Huatulco: Brisas completed a renovation of rooms,
restaurants, lounges and public areas last month.
The property had
significant work done to make all the rooms larger and changed to a
contemporary Delano-style look, with new bathrooms and a crisp,
clean look, all in white, said Blumberg.
The property
operates as an all-inclusive from November until May.
" Galeria
Plaza: Renovations were completed in February at the
Galeria Plaza in Mexico City.
The new look for
Galeria Plaza features a contemporary business motif with dark
woods, beige colors and a complete redo from top to bottom, said
Blumberg.
"
Hacienda Jurica: Renovations are complete at Hacienda
Jurica, a former 16th-century hacienda in Queretaro that now sports
refurbished guest rooms and public areas.
" Las
Hadas Manzanillo: Before the end of the summer,
renovations will be finished at Las Hadas Manzanillo. The hotel is
focused on renovating the public areas and guest rooms.
" Las
Brisas Acapulco: Renovations will take place during the
summer months at Las Brisas Acapulco and are due to be completed by
November 2007.
The work at
Acapulco is centered around the common areas and lobby and a total
redo of all the rooms, Blumberg said. Flat-screen TVs, CD players,
robes and amenities are all part of the new look.
" Las
Brisas Ixtapa: Work will also be completed in November
2007 at Las Brisas Ixtapa, with each guest room expanded to include
a sitting area.
The color schemes
are neutral, and all in-room amenities have been upgraded to offer
a home away from home for our guests, Blumberg added.
Brisas also has
expansion plans, according to Blumberg.
Plans call for
the development of Las Brisas Cabo on the most famous beach in the
area, Medanos Beach, he said.
The facility is
planned to be a multi-use resort with a hotel, golf course,
residential [housing] and convention center.
An opening date
has not been announced for the resort in Cabo San Lucas.
