The fifth annual Global Travel Marketplace West, the appointment-based conference geared towards travel sellers in the western half of the U.S. and Canada, opened May 15 at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Tuesday's welcome reception buzzed with excitement from travel advisers and suppliers. Neon lights from the nearby Las Vegas Strip illuminated the event, which was held at the Cosmopolitan's outdoor North Boulevard Pool and featured entertainment by the Autograph Collection and Tribute Portfolio Hotels (the reception was cosponsored by Marriott International and the Cosmopolitan).
Wednesday kicked off the heart of GTM West: travel advisers connecting with global travel suppliers in one-on-one meetings, exclusive boardroom presentations and additional networking opportunities. To qualify for GTM, travel advisers must have a minimum of $800,000 in individual annual sales or be an owner of a multimillion-dollar agency. At this year's GTM West, a record 108 agents were secheduled to meet with nearly 125 supplier companies.
GTM and GTM West are produced by Travel Weekly parent company Northstar Travel Group. The flagship Global Travel Marketplace conference will take place in July in Fort Lauderdale. Information about that event, attendee qualifications and applications can be found here
