The Asia Pacific market is the world's largest travel region, and the second annual Phocuswright India conference will put the spotlight on what it is calling "The Asian Advantage."
And major travel and tech brands are paying attention. Speakers from Google, Expedia, Booking.com, Airbnb, Uber and Carlson Rezidor are among those who will be discussing a part of the world fueled and roiled by hyperactive fundraising and consolidation.
The conference has elevated its program in its second year, said Phocuswright president Simon Lehmann. "Asian travel companies are taking on the established order within and beyond the region," he said. "Add to that a fast growing population of travelers, which is both aspirational and digital, and the region is a very attractive bet for the industry."
The conference is structured to appeal to both those with deep experience in the region and those who want to learn, network and improve their understanding of the Asia Pacific market, Lehmann said, with a focus on customer acquisition, the importance of capitalization and research.
The three-day conference, taking place Feb. 28 to March 2 at the Leela Ambience Gurgaon Hotel and Residences in Gurgaon, will include sessions focused on business travel, OTAs, the sharing economy, budget travel and Asian destinations, among other topics.
