NEW YORK -- Travel Weekly on Tuesday was the recipient of
five Eddie awards and one Ozzie award, which are presented for excellence in
journalism and design by Folio, a media company that covers the publishing
industry.
Travel Weekly won Eddies in four business-to-business
travel/transportation categories. It was awarded best full issue for its issue
of Oct. 23, 2017, and was given the supplemental, annual or one-shot award for
the Travel Industry Survey, a special pullout section in the same issue.
Arnie Weissmann, Travel Weekly's editor in chief, won the
column/blog award for his weekly "From the Window Seat" column, and
TravelWeekly.com took home the Eddie for website.
Travel Weekly also received the award for B-to-B social
media or online community for its monthly #TWchats on Twitter.
The Ozzie, which recognizes achievement in design, was
awarded for "Taboo Travel" in the B-to-B photography category.
Travel Weekly was also a finalist in other
business-to-business categories: editorial use of data, for the Travel Industry
Survey; single article, travel, for both "Floating Architecture" by
Tom Stieghorst and "Targeting Generation Z" by Jamie Biesiada; video
for "Biometrics Take Center Stage at WTTC"; and custom/content
marketing for "The Truth about Mexico," sponsored
by Apple Leisure Group.
"Rwanda Rising" was a finalist in the Ozzie B-to-B photography category.
Sister publication TravelAge West was a finalist for its
website, TravelAgeWest.com.
