The all-suite Laureate Key West has opened on the northeast side of the island, the latest addition to the Opal Collection of independent hotels and resorts. It is the second Opal Collection hotel on Key West, joining the Sunset Key Cottages.
The Laureate, so named in recognition of the creative minds that have populated Key West over the decades, features decor that draws inspiration from literary greats like Ernest Hemingway. The decor is described as "modern coastal" by Mark Vose, general manager of the hotel, in a press release.
The property has 64 suites that feature bay views, private balconies and fully equipped gourmet kitchenettes with refrigerator, stovetop, microwave and dishwasher. The pool area is surrounded by tropical landscaping and a large cabana available to guests on a complimentary first-come, first-served basis.
To celebrate its grand opening, the Laureate Key West is offering 30% off stays of two or more nights through Dec. 20. Rooms start at $219 per night.
