The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., will celebrate Halloween from Sept. 3 to Oct. 31 with experiences throughout its theme parks and a specially ticketed event, the "Oogie Boogie Bash -- A Disney Halloween Party," taking place 25 times throughout the season.
Oogie Boogie, featuring the villain from "The Nightmare Before Christmas," is the namesake of the Halloween party. The limited-capacity event will take place at Disney California Adventure. Most areas of the park will remain open during the party, including its newest land, Avengers Campus.
Party guests can enter the park three hours before the party officially starts at 6 p.m. During the event, which runs until 11 pm., treat trails will feature trick-or-treating for Mars Wrigley candy; guests will enjoy the "Frightfully Fun Parade;" the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will morph into Villains Grove; characters will appear in costumes; the facade of Carthay Circle Restaurant will be overtaken by bats and other spooky features; and guests will get unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads from the evening.

Tickets start at $114 per person and will go on sale Tuesday, July 13, online. The party will be held on select Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Decor and more at the parks
Both Disneyland and California Adventure will be decked out in their Halloween finest throughout the season.
Photo opportunities at Disneyland include the Main Street Pumpkin Festival and the Mickey Mouse jack-o'-lantern.
The Haunted Mansion will receive its traditional Halloween overlay, Haunted Mansion Holiday, inspired by "The Nightmare Before Christmas."
Disneyland will also host a nightly projection and special effects show, "Halloween Screams," from Sept. 3 to Oct. 31. The show will include fireworks on the weekends.
Frontierland will celebrate the Day of the Dead with a musical trio of skeletons, bright flowers and more.
Oogie Boogie himself will loom over the entrance to California Adventure throughout the season. Inside the park, select attractions will get spooky overlays.
At Cars Land, the town of Radiator Springs will transform into Radiator Screams. The town will be redecorated, and Cars characters will be wearing costumes. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree attraction will become Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree, featuring spooky tunes, while Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters will similarly morph into Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween.
Elsewhere in the park, Guardians of the Galaxy -- Mission: Breakout! will at night become Guardians of the Galaxy -- Monsters After Dark, featuring a Halloween storyline.
Guests will have the chance to see -- and snap a picture with -- costumed characters on Buena Vista Street. The area itself will be decked out in Halloween finery, with the spooky overlay of Carthay Circle appearing each night. Guests will also get a chance to take a photo with a 10-foot-tall statue of the Headless Horseman.
Plaza de la Familia
Also at California Adventure, the Dia de los Muertos celebration at Plaza de la Familia returns this year from Sept. 3 to Nov. 2 in Paradise Gardens.
The celebration features a street show, "A Musical Celebration of Coco," themed after the film "Coco" as well as mariachi music, "The World of Coco" art exhibit, special photo opportunities, festive foods and crafts.
