There are changes in the works for the Waldorf Astoria Naples.
The hotel’s owner and manager, Northwood Hospitality, says the property will be renamed the Naples Grande Beach Resort & Naples Grande Golf Course. Northwood purchased the 474-room hotel and 18-hole golf course in October 2013 for $149 million.
Aside from the name change, the luxury hotel is also undergoing an $18 million renovation and redesign. All of the 474 guestrooms and suites will receive new paint, furniture and new balcony furniture. Four of the hotel’s five restaurants are being renamed and redesigned: Catch of the Pelican (replacing the Strip House),
Rhode's End Beach Bar (formerly the Beach Bar & Grill), Sunset Veranda (Sunset Deck) and the Oasis Pool Bar (Pool Bar & Grill). In addition, the beach
area will be getting new furniture, cabanas and umbrellas.
To date, three floors have been completed, totaling 69 rooms and six suites.
The hotel, spa and restaurants will remain open during the renovation. The entire project is expected to be complete in January 2015.
The Naples Grande Beach Resort also launched a new website, at www.naplesgrande.com.
