Kelly Clarkson will become the latest superstar to have a residency in Las Vegas when she kicks off "Invincible" at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on April 1.
Clarkson was the winner of the first season of "American Idol" in 2002 and has since sold 25 million albums and 36 million singles. Her hits include "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," "Because of You," "Since U Been Gone" and "My Life Would Suck Without You."
The Texas-born singer, a judge on NBC's "The Voice," has won three Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards, two American Country Awards, and one Country Music Association Award. She announced the residency with on her syndicated daytime talk show earlier this month.
She and her longtime band are designing what they call an immersive music experience exclusively for the Zappos Theater to include highlights from her catalog of songs that spans nearly two decades.
"I've always loved performing in Las Vegas and the high energy of the crowds there," Clarkson said. "So many of my musical idols have had, and still have, incredible residencies on the Strip, and I'm so excited to create my own!"
Clarkson will perform on select dates in April, July, August and September.
