While Miami Beach’s sugary-sand beaches and tropical weather remain popular with tourists, a recent survey shows most visitors flock to Miami Beach to enjoy the city’s nightlife.
Two-thirds of respondents to the poll, conducted by Harris Interactive, listed nightlife as a reason for visiting the city. More than four in 10 adults citing the city’s sex appeal and reputation as a “hot” destination as the driving force behind their decision to visit, ranking its after-dark attractions favorably with international seaside destinations such as Monaco, the French Riviera, Majorca and Barcelona.
More than 2,000 adults, age 18 and over, were surveyed online by Harris on behalf of Hill & Knowlton.
“The data and results returned by this survey solidify our take on tourist feedback: They love our beaches and our great weather,” said Jeff Lehman, chair of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority. “But it’s interesting to see the rise of nightlife as a major draw, as the city’s sex appeal skyrockets.”
Miami Beach’s seven square miles of nightlife and entertainment have become a big draw for the party crowd, including hot spots like Liv, Cameo, Bamboo, Wall, Story, Mansion, FDR and Hyde Beach.
