Plaza to host Governor's Global Tourism Summit

The Nevada Governor's Global Tourism Summit will be held Nov. 12 to 14 at the Plaza Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas.

Travel industry leaders and marketers will discuss international trends and new technologies among other subjects at the conference, organized by the Nevada Division of Tourism (Travel Nevada).

Speakers on the opening day include Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) CEO Steve Hill, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Plaza Hotel CEO Jonathan Jossel. Cathy Hackl, an expert on augmented reality and virtual reality, and Andy Schuon, a media and entertainment executive who is the co-founder and COE of audio platform Spkr., will be the keynote speakers.

U.S. Travel Association president and CEO Roger Dow will discuss international travel on Nov. 14. A discussion of Las Vegas as "The New Sports Capital of the Work" on Nov. 14 will include Raiders President Marc Badain, Vegas Golden Knights Chief Marketing Officer Brian Killingsworth and  Lisa Motley, director of sports marketing and special events for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
