Former two-term Nevada governor Brian Sandoval was named chair of the board of directors for Resorts World Las Vegas.

He replaces Jim Murren, who becomes chairman emeritus of the board of directors. Murren was also recently appointed as interim CEO of the United Arab Emirates' General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority.
Sandoval, governor from 2011 to 2019, has been president of the University of Nevada, Reno since 2020. He also was the state's attorney general, judge of the U.S. District Court for Nevada and a member of the Nevada Gaming Commission, serving as its chair from 1999 to 2001.
