The Sahara Las Vegas added a poker room in February as part of its $150 million transformation from the SLS Las Vegas.
The new room, open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily, features seven tables with charging ports, a 16-foot-by-9-foot LED video wall and five additional screens. The Northside Cafe provides food options.
No limit Texas Hold 'em, limit Hold 'em, pot limit Omaha and seven-card stud are among the games offered. Tournaments are scheduled daily with at least four start times. Buy-ins range from $45 to $100.
Players receive $2 in rewards points per hour played in cash games by signing up to play through Poker Atlas. Points can be redeemed at several of the resort's restaurants, and members of the Sahara's Club 52 are eligible to receive additional deals and benefits.
"We have continued to expand our gaming offerings since beginning our $150 million transformation in 2018," said Paul Hobson, senior vice president and general manager of the Sahara Las Vegas. "The addition of poker to our gaming amenities provides for a much more well-rounded gaming experience for our guests."
A grand opening celebration was held Feb. 21. A replica of the resort's marquee made of strategically stacked poker chips was unveiled. Resort officials and workers and VIP guests signed table felts to be displayed in the resort.
Other planned enhancements to the 60,000-square-foot casino floor include a new layout for the slots and table games pit as well as a new ceiling, carpeting and lighting.
Updates to hotel suites and corridors, the pool area and entertainment venues are also part of the renovations.
