The 15-story, 175-room Hyatt Place St. Petersburg Downtown has opened in the heart of the waterfront and arts district, the city's first Hyatt property.

The select-service hotel was developed and managed by Kolter Hospitality.

Rates at the property, which start at $189, include WiFi, daily hot breakfast and access to a state-of-the-art gym, live entertainment two to three nights per week and frequent community-focused social programming on the rooftop pool deck.

"We've been given the freedom to create a hotel experience that hones in on the things that are quintessentially St. Pete," said director of sales Ryan Tarrant. "From our interior design to our food and beverage offerings, we've created a very craft-centric hotel that we think locals and tourists will want to come back to."

Among the offerings are poolside yoga on the rooftop pool deck with the Body Electric Yoga Co. and beverages from local partners such as St. Petersburg Distillery, Green Bench Brewing Co., Cycle Brewing, St. Pete Brewing and Black Crow Coffee Co. served at the hotel's three full-service bars and sidewalk cafe.

This story has been updated. It originally reported that the hotel was opening on Nov. 9.
