The Flamingo Las Vegas will host "An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Concert" when it reopens following the Covid-19 shutdown, the North American debut for the show.
State-of-the-art holographic technology, a five-piece band and backup singers and dancers create the concert experience. Digitally remastered arrangements of Houston's biggest hits include "I Will Always Love You," "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)," "The Greatest Love of All" and a cover of Steve Winwood's "Higher Love."
Houston, who died in 2012, is the only artist to chart seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits and the only artist with eight consecutive multiplatinum albums. She won more than 400 awards, including six Grammys, 22 American Music Awards and 16 Billboard Music Awards.
"While Whitney's no longer with us, her voice and legacy will live on with us forever," said Pat Houston, Whitney's sister-in-law, former manager and president and CEO of the Estate of Whitney E. Houston. "[This] is another chance for us to relive and celebrate the talent that we were so lucky to receive for more than three decades."
The concert toured in 24 cities across Europe. "You quickly forget that it is a hologram and begin to both appreciate and celebrate just how good Whitney was,"Stacey Mullen wrote in the Herald Scotland/Glasgow Evening Times.
It is produced and created by BASE Hologram in partnership with the Estate of Whitney E. Houston and in association with GFour Productions.
Tickets to the Las Vegas production range from $39 to $99 (plus tax and fee). Check WhitneyVegas.com for more information on when it will open.
