American Queen Voyages is partnering with the Mississippi city of Natchez to launch Christmas market cruises later this year.

The American Countess and the American Queen will do extended port calls to enable guests to wander through the festive market stalls of Natchez that will be covered in holiday decorations and serve holiday fare.

The Christmas market cruises will be part of the company's lineup of themed cruises called Holidays on the River, which also feature Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve specialty cruises.

American Queen Voyages president Cindy D'Aoust said, "Natchez is the quintessential Christmas town, making it the perfect place for our guests to enjoy this festive fusion of European yuletide nostalgia and authentic Southern charm."

The Thanksgiving cruises will feature a traditional feast with roasted turkey, a selection of Southern dressings, green beans, sweet potato pie, bourbon pecan pie and other classics.

The New Year's Eve cruise is complete with a festive gala dinner with lots of champagne and dancing well into the night.
