After revealing that it would launch three more Suites Ships in 2014 -- the Avalon Poetry II, Avalon Illumination and Avalon Impression -- Avalon Waterways has chosen Australian celebrity and TV host Deborah Hutton to christen the Avalon Illumination next year.
Hutton is the host of Australia’s “Foxtel Movie Show.” She will christen the Avalon Illumination during a ceremony in June 2014. Details about the christening plans for the Avalon Poetry II and Avalon Impression will be unveiled later this year, according to Avalon.
The addition of the three ships, in addition to the two new Suite Ships launching this spring -- Avalon Artistry II and Avalon Expression -- will bring the fleet’s Suite Ship total to eight.
The staterooms on the upper two decks of the Suite Ships, Avalon’s newest class of river cruise vessels, feature open-air balconies and seating areas.
