Minor Hotels is launching luxury river cruises along the
Mekong River between Thailand and Laos.
The largest of the five boats is the Boheme, which is 138
feet long and has 13 luxury cabins. The itinerary between Chiang Rai in
Thailand's Golden Triangle and the Laos capital of Luang Prabang is two nights
downstream and three nights upstream.
Guests can mountain bike through villages, fish for catfish,
visit the limestone caves of Pak Ou (known for their Buddha images) and enjoy
onboard cooking classes and yoga.
The Gypsy is a two-cabin cruiser that can accommodate as
many as four people and allow for a customizable itinerary. Minor Hotels will
also operate the Nomad, which will do sunset cruises in and around Luang
Prabang. The Play will operate as a floating lounge that can hold as many as 15
passengers and will be designed to accommodate private events. The Monsoon will
offer touring shuttles to the Pak Ou caves.
Minor Hotels oversees 157 hotels under its own brands Anantara,
Avani and Tivoli as well as properties under luxury brands such as Four Seasons
and St. Regis.
Additionally, Minor Hotels operates the Anantara Overnight
Cruises between Bangkok and Ayutthaya as well as the Manohra Dining Cruises in
Bangkok.
