Viking is building a third ship for its Egypt river fleet.
The Viking Aton is currently under construction and scheduled to launch on the Nile in September 2022, Viking said on Tuesday.

Scheduled to sail Viking's popular 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, the new vessel will join the Viking Osiris, set to launch this year, and Viking's first owned-and-operated ship on the Nile, the Viking Ra, which debuted in 2018.
The line said the Viking Aton will be identical to the Viking Osiris, a "state-of-the-art" vessel inspired by its popular European Longships but smaller at 41 cabins and built specifically to navigate the Nile.

"Egypt remains a top destination for many of our guests who are inspired to discover the rich history and beauty of the region," said Torstein Hagen, chairman of Viking. "We will always maintain our commitment to creating meaningful experiences that are focused on the destination. The addition of Viking Aton is a reflection of our continued investment in Egypt; we look forward to introducing the country's cultural treasures to even more Viking guests in the future."
