Viking has taken delivery of its latest Europe river ship: the Viking Eldir.
The Eldir, one of Viking's Longships, will cruise the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. It will embark on its inaugural voyage March 25, sailing the Grand European Tour itinerary from Amsterdam to Budapest.
The 190-passenger ship was built at Meyer Group's Neptun Werft shipyard in Rostock-Warnemunde, Germany. Like all Viking ships, the vessel reflects the company's traditional Scandinavian design.
In addition to the Grand European Tour, the ship will sail the Rhine Getaway, Passage to Eastern Europe, European Sojourn and Christmas on the Rhine itineraries.
