Viking is taking flight.
The cruise line announced a slate of new river cruise offerings in Europe, including Zeppelin airship excursions in Germany, where guests can soar above the Rhine River, catching a birds-eye view of Cologne and the Ruhr Valley.
The company also enhanced other excursion offerings, including small group experiences, and added land extensions.
Starting this year, Viking will beef up its offerings on the Rhine, Danube, Seine and Elbe.
On the Danube, guests can enjoy dinner at Nikolaihof Winery in the Wachau Valley, one of Austria's oldest wineries; explore Durnstein and have dinner in a former monastery cellar; partake in a cooking class in Belgrade; and explore Slovakian wine country with a Red Stone Castle visit.
On Christmastime sailings in Paris and Normandy, passengers will have the chance to explore Rouen and see where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake.
While on the Elbe holiday cruise, Viking will add a "flavors of Berlin" experience, allowing guests to explore some of the city's famed eateries.
Viking's new small group experiences include visiting the Palace of Versailles in France, Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna and Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic.
The line's new pre- and post-cruise land extensions will be offered in Italy, France, Croatia, Slovenia, Belgium and the Netherlands.
