Air France-KLM is the latest airline company to fall prey to a cyberattack, confirming Friday that hackers breached a third-party platform used by its contact centers.

No sensitive data, such as passwords, passports, credit card numbers or mileage balances within the Flying Blue Miles loyalty program were compromised, the airline group said. However, the attackers did obtain names, phone numbers, email addresses and Flying Blue account numbers.

"Customers whose data may have been accessed are currently being notified and advised to be particularly mindful of suspicious emails or phone calls," Air France-KLM said in a statement.

The company said that it swiftly implemented protective measures after detecting unusual activity on the third-party platform, which ended the incident. Air France-KLM said its internal systems remain secure.

The incident is the latest in a slate of cyberattacks against prominent airlines since June. Hawaiian, WestJet and Qantas have been hacked, and so has Russia's Aeroflot, which was hit in late July by pro-Ukrainian hackers.
