Alaska Airlines will fly between New York JFK and Anchorage next summer.

The daily service will begin on June 13 and continue through Aug. 19.

Alaska will operate the route on two-class Boeing 737-8 aircraft and will be lone airline connecting New York and Anchorage. Alaska, however, will compete against United's daily Newark-Anchorage service.

Alaska also will commence Saturday-only San Diego-Anchorage service next summer on a 737 plane. Flights will begin May 18 and continue through Aug. 17.

No other carrier flies between San Diego and Anchorage, according to Cirium flight data.
