American Airlines has rolled out touchless baggage check at
230 domestic airports, part of its Covid-19 health safety program.
To utilize the feature, customers must check-in prior to
airport arrival and pre-pay baggage fees. Upon airport arrival, they scan a
mobile or printed boarding pass at an American kiosk. Bag tags will
automatically print. Customers then attach the tags and leave luggage at the bag
drop.
The service is available for domestic flights only.
American joins United among major U.S. airlines in offering
touchless bag check.
