BA to move long-haul flights to new terminal in phases

British Airways will move some long-haul flights (including transatlantic routes) from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5 at London Heathrow Airport on June 5, and the remaining long-haul flights will move into Terminal 5 in two further phases.

The second phase will take place on Sept. 17, and the third at the end of October.

In a statement, British Airways said the new Terminal 5 "is working well."

When the terminal opened in late March, the terminal's baggage system malfunctioned, resulting in the misplacement of thousands of bags and the cancellation of more than 600 flights over the terminal's first 12 days of operation.
