Bark, a company known for selling monthly goodie bags for dogs, is launching a luxury flying experience for your canine companion.

Bark Air will initially market two routes, connecting the New York City metroplex with the Los Angeles and London areas.

Flights will operate weekly beginning May 23 between Westchester County Airport (about 30 miles north of New York City) and Van Nuys Airport near Los Angeles. Flights between Westchester County and London Stansted Airport will depart twice per month. All the flights will operate out of private terminals.

Bark Air-branded flights will be operated by private jet service Talon Air on Gulfstream G5s or similar aircraft. Planes will be configured to fit 10 dogs with their human companions. The canines will have to be on a lap or leashed during takeoff and landing, but otherwise will be free to move around. Dogs will even be able to sprawl out on couches or share an oversized seat with their human companion.

"Complete with toys, blankets and doggie refreshments, pups are free to nap, play, bark, or beg for belly rubs at their leisure," the company said.

Among those snacks and refreshments will be meaty and nutty treats as well as a beverage that Bark Air is calling "doggie champagne."

Flights are now available for booking at DogsFlyFirst.com, though they won't come cheap. A one-way trip cross-country for dog and owner will initially cost $6,000, while one-way from New York to London will cost $8,000.

Upon booking, Bark Air will follow up with the dog owner to collect details about the size, allergies and socialization preferences for each animal. Dog-friendly car service will be available within 30 miles of  the airport.

Dogs must be accompanied by a human, though Bark's customer-service team can arrange an escort if needed.

The company says it's ready for various circumstances, including the occasional in-air mishap. Pee pads and cleaning supplies will be available on board.
