DOT clears Alaska Airlines to fly to Mexico City

The U.S. Department of Transportation has approved Alaska Airlines' planned service to Mexico City from Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego.

If the Mexican government approves the routes, which Alaska expects soon, the carrier will begin daily round-trip service from Los Angeles and San Francisco on Aug. 8, and on Nov. 6, it will begin daily round-trip service from San Diego and add a second flight from Los Angeles.
