Hawaiian Airlines has moved up the start date of its summer nonstop Oakland-Maui service to June 4, 13 days earlier than originally planned.
"Customer response to this new flight has been strong," said Glenn Taniguchi, Hawaiian's senior vice president for marketing and sales. There are some very attractive fares for travelers who want to get a jump on summer."
The seasonal service is scheduled to end Sept. 6.
In other Hawaiian Airlines news, the carrier released its March traffic statistics April 6. The airline said it carried 793,845 passengers last month, a 1.7% decline compared with the same period in 2009. The carrier's load factor, however, was 86.1%, up 1.5% year over year.
Hawaiian said it had carried nearly 2 million passengers year to date, inching up just .2% from last year at the same time. The company's load factor was 83.6%, an increase of 1.7%.
