JetBlue began phasing in an “automatic check-in” feature that emails a printable boarding pass to passengers 24 hours before their flights, along with the option to download a mobile boarding pass via the JetBlue smartphone app.
The service became available Wednesday for domestic passengers booked in Even More Space seats and will expand in 2015, eventually including international routes, the carrier said.
By initiating the check-in process 24 hours in advance, JetBlue said it not only hopes to streamline the process for passengers but also to catch errors or inconsistencies in the reservation or resolve issues with special service requests before the passenger gets to the airport.
