JetBlue, hoping to exploit its upcoming loyalty program partnership with United, is making a play for the most prolific Delta and American Airlines customers.

As a standard offer, Delta SkyMiles members with either Diamond Medallion or Platinum Medallion status, the program's top two designations, can accept JetBlue's status match proposition, which gives them three months with TrueBlue Mosaic 2 status.

The same offer applies to American AAdvantage members with Platinum Pro or Platinum status.

But through June 30, JetBlue is offering those individuals an extra perk. If they earn 50 TrueBlue tiles by the end of the year, they'll receive the highest TrueBlue status, Mosaic 4, through 2026. Typically, 250 tiles are required to achieve Mosaic 4 status.

Flyers earn Mosaic tiles by spending money on JetBlue products and through purchases with JetBlue co-branded credit cards. One tile is awarded for every $100 a person spends on JetBlue flights and vacation packages as well as via JetBlue's Paisly travel service platform. One tile is earned for every $1,000 of co-branded credit card spend.

Flyers with TrueBlue Mosaic 4 status receive six certificates annually for free upgrades to JetBlue's Mint business class. They also can gift Mosaic 1 status to a TrueBlue member of their choice. And they receive a variety of other benefits that are also available to individuals who hold a lower Mosaic status level, including two free checked bags, free alcohol, expedited security screening and free extra-legroom seats.

JetBlue-United reciprocal loyalty deal

Late last month JetBlue and United reached an agreement to provide reciprocal loyalty point accrual and redemption as well as reciprocal loyalty status privileges for United's Mileage Plus and JetBlue's TrueBlue members.

The carriers have not announced a launch date for the partnership, which they are calling Blue Sky, but said some components could begin as soon as the fall.

The partnership will offer loyalty perks to TrueBlue members on United's large domestic and global networks, fueling JetBlue's effort to poach loyal Delta and American customers.
